Medical
This optional benefit allows a regular employee who works 30 hours or more to elect coverage from CIGNA. Coverage begins the first day of the month following the hire date. The premium is shared by the employee and the Library.

Dental
This optional benefit allows an employee to choose from one of two plans offered through Cigna. Dental coverage is available to regular employees working 20 hours or more per week. Coverage begins the first day of the month following the hire date. The premium is paid for by the employee.
Life
Basic Life insurance is provided for regular employees working 20 hours or more per week. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following the hire date. The premium is paid by the Library. Additional life insurance is available for the employee, their spouse and/or their dependent(s) at the employee's expense.
Flexible Spending Account
This optional benefit allows an employee to reduce their taxable income by directing pre-taxed dollars to pay for qualified medical expenses and/or dependent care expenses. The Flexible Spending Account is available to regular employees working 20 hours or more per week. Rocky Mountain Reserve is the administrator for the Library.
Long Term Disability
Long Term Disability is provided for regular employees working 20 hours or more per week. Coverage begins the first day of the month following hire date. The premium is paid by the Library. Employee will receive 50% of their monthly earnings minus deductible income.
Vision
This optional benefit is available to regular employees working 20 hours or more per week. Coverage begins the first day of the month following the hire date. The Library pays the employee's premium. Additional coverage is available for the employee's spouse and/or their dependent(s) at the employee's expense. VSP is the provider for the Library.
El Paso County Retirement Plan
Available to full-time employees working 40 hours per week. The Library contributes 8% of an employee’s regular earnings and the employee is required to contribute 8% of their regular earnings each pay period into the retirement plan. An employee is fully vested in the county’s retirement plan after eight years of regular employment. Coverage begins on the first day of regular employment.
Deferred Compensation (457b)
This optional benefit is available to permanent employees working 20 hours or more per week. Deferred Compensation is an additional way for an employee to save for retirement while reducing their taxable income. The employee may draw benefits when they are eligible for retirement. Employee can enroll at any time during the year.
Vacation Leave
Provided to regular employees working 20 hours or more per week. Employee will accrue hours per pay period based on the accrual table. Vacation leave increases at ten years of employment. Earned vacation leave earned rolls over year to year.
Medical Leave (Sick)
Provided to regular employees working 20 hours or more per week. Employee will earn hours per pay period based on the accrual table. Earned sick leave rolls over year to year.
