Makerspaces

PPLD’s makerspaces offer access to tools, materials, and machines to help bring your creative vision to life. In these spaces, you’ll find equipment such as 3D printers, laser engraving and cutting machines, sewing machines, and assorted handicraft and art tools. Reservations are recommended for makerspace equipment. Find out what’s available and plan your project.

You can get your no-cost library card from any Pikes Peak Library District location and use it to access equipment.

Ready to use maker equipment?

Some equipment in the Makerspaces requires training, called badging. To become badged, you can do online training or attend an in-person badging class. Choose your equipment from the list below for more information.

Reserve your equipment and check in with staff

While walk-ins are welcome, we recommend making reservations to ensure the equipment you need is available. Reserve your equipment online. Patrons must check in with staff upon arrival in the makerspaces and check out before leaving.

Things to Know

Creative Space Use Agreement

A signed Creative Space Use Agreement for Minors (en español) is required.  Adults agree to the terms when reserving equipment.

Must be 9 years or older

You must be at least 9 years of age to be in the spaces. Children 9 - 11 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Practice basic safety!

Safe use of makerspace equipment is important. Ask staff for recommendations if needed. We are here to help.

Material fees

Most machines (except the 3D printers) are free to use with your own materials or materials provided by PPLD at no cost. Materials are available for some machines for a fee. Visit the equipment page for more info.
