The Adult Education department is dedicated to empowering our community through lifelong learning and personal growth. We provide accessible, high-quality educational resources and support services tailored to adult learners' diverse needs. By fostering an inclusive and engaging environment, we strive to enhance literacy, promote self-sufficiency, and inspire a love for learning in all individuals.
Explore Programs
Qualified learners earn a high school diploma and a career certificate. Most work is online, following a study plan.
Qualified adults with beginner to intermediate English learn to listen, read, speak, and write in English.
Intermediate and advanced adult English learners practice speaking and listening or reading and writing with English conversation and creative writing groups.
Adults meet once a week for 12 weeks to study for the U.S. Naturalization test for citizenship.
Qualified learners take a five-week training program to learn skills for work as a prep cook or line cook. The classes take place in the kitchen classroom at Library 21c.
