English as a Second Language (ESL)

English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are for adults age 17 and older. Classes focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking in English. ESL classes are for beginning, intermediate, and high-intermediate levels.

There is no charge for ESL classes at Pikes Peak Library District. Classes run for 15 weeks and are in-person with some online options. Students are expected to study 8-10 hours each week.

Our curriculum emphasizes practical communication in modern American English. Students not only learn grammar and vocabulary but also gain skills for daily conversations and navigating real-world situations.

Students must attend an orientation prior to registration. Registration for the orientation are in December and July. You will see a link on this page when enrollment opens.
